Baseline assessment of compliance & safety maturity

Safety Maturity Scan — measure your compliance maturity

You can't improve what you don't measure. In a few steps, the Safety Maturity Scan gives you an objective picture of where your property organisation stands today: from Initial to Mature.

Not a verdict, but a baseline assessment — the starting point of your improvement roadmap.

Why a baseline assessment

Compliance starts with knowing where you stand

Without a baseline assessment, you steer on gut feeling: you think everything is in order, until a regulator, insurer or incident shows otherwise.

The Safety Maturity Scan maps this out for each dimension of your compliance and safety approach. No organisation starts at Mature — and it doesn't have to. The scan isn't there to judge, but to show which step comes next, and why that step delivers the most.

The maturity ladder

From Initial to Mature

Most organisations start at Aware or Compliant. That's a normal starting point, not a problem — the scan shows the shortest route to Managed and Mature.

  1. 1Initial
  2. 2Aware
  3. 3Compliant
  4. 4Managed
  5. 5Mature
  1. 1Initial

Obligations are not in view. You know what needs to happen mainly from experience — not from data.

  2. 2Aware

You know the main obligations, but they aren't recorded yet. There is no overview.

  3. 3Compliant

You comply at the moment of measurement. The evidence exists, but in isolation — per document, per report.

  4. 4Managed

A fixed process monitors obligations and actions. Alerts reach the right person, on time.

  5. 5Mature

The cycle maintains itself. Evidence is always up to date — and can be shown at any time to the board, insurer or regulator.

What the scan measures

Four dimensions, one picture

Data

Is your building file complete and up to date, or is the knowledge still scattered across Excel sheets and folders?

Obligations

Do you know which statutory requirements apply to each building or building component, and when they expire?

Process

Is there a fixed process from alert to completed action, or does it depend on whoever happens to be paying attention?

Assurance

Is completed work recorded as evidence, or does it drop out of sight once it's finished?

What you get

A report and concrete steps

After the scan, you receive a report with your position on each dimension — data, obligations, process and assurance — and an improvement roadmap: the two or three steps that deliver the most in your situation. Not a thick advisory document that ends up in a drawer, but a concrete starting point for the next phase.

Who it's for

What the scan delivers for each role

Owners

A first picture of where liability and evidence are still vulnerable.

Property managers

Insight into where data and process are still disconnected — and how much time that costs you.

Management board

A substantiated starting point to decide where investment in compliance pays off most.

From scan to advisory and implementation

The scan is a baseline, not the finish line

The outcome is the starting point of every advisory engagement: where do you begin, and which step comes next?

Our consultants translate the improvement roadmap into a concrete plan — from standard to day-to-day practice, built on ISO 55000 and PDCA.

Proven in practice

Connected to what actually happens

Safanto works for housing associations and healthcare real estate organisations, and connects to live data from specialist IoT partners such as Elseco (lift monitoring) and Vlindar (roof safety) — so the baseline assessment reflects what is actually happening in your property.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions

How long does the Safety Maturity Scan take?
Fifteen to thirty minutes, depending on how much you already know about your portfolio. You complete the scan on your own, or together with a consultant.
Is the scan free?
Yes. The scan is a free baseline assessment — a first step to see where you stand before you decide on a follow-up engagement.
What happens with the outcome?
You receive a report with your position on the maturity ladder and an improvement roadmap. If you want to put that roadmap into practice, an advisory meeting follows on directly.
Is the scan a verdict on how well we're doing?
No. The scan is a starting point, not a report card. Most organisations start at Aware or Compliant, and that is a normal starting point.
Which standards underpin the scan?
The maturity ladder follows the PDCA cycle and aligns with ISO 55000: from ad hoc to a process that maintains itself. More on this in the methodology.
